Havoc System — Custom Weapons, Armor & Tools

Havoc System custom weapons and armor in MARKIII-RUST

If you've been playing on MARKIII-RUST for any length of time, you've probably seen players wielding weapons and wearing armor that doesn't exist in vanilla Rust. That's the Havoc System — one of our flagship custom Carbon plugins that adds an entirely new tier of equipment to the game.

This guide covers everything you need to know: what the Havoc System is, how to unlock it, what gear is available, and how to make the most of it on our PVE server.

What Is the Havoc System?

The Havoc System is a custom-built progression layer that sits on top of Rust's existing crafting and gear system. It introduces weapons, armor sets, and tools that are exclusive to MARKIII-RUST — you won't find these on any other server.

Think of it as the endgame gear system. Once you've mastered vanilla Rust's progression and hit the limits of what standard items can do, the Havoc System opens up a whole new ceiling of power and utility.

Quick Facts

Plugin: Custom Carbon plugin (compatible with both Carbon and Oxide)

Requirement: No minimum level — available from the start

Crafting: Requires Havoc components from raids, events, and NPC drops

Havoc Weapons

Havoc weapons are where the system really shines. Each weapon is a custom-skinned, rebalanced variant that outperforms its vanilla counterpart. They aren't just stat boosts — many come with unique effects like bonus damage against NPCs, area-of-effect hits, or faster reload speeds.

The weapons are divided into tiers based on how difficult their components are to obtain. Early tiers can be crafted from components dropped by easy and medium raidable bases, while the top-tier Havoc weapons require components from hard raids, boss events, and rare NPC drops.

Tier Source Power Level Example Weapons
Havoc I Easy/Medium raidable bases +15% over vanilla Havoc Pistol, Havoc Bow
Havoc II Hard raidable bases, events +30% over vanilla Havoc Rifle, Havoc SMG
Havoc III Nightmare raids, boss NPCs +50% over vanilla Havoc LR, Havoc Bolty
Havoc Elite Special events only +75% over vanilla Havoc Destroyer, Havoc Fury

Havoc Armor

The armor system follows the same tiered structure. Havoc armor sets provide higher protection values than anything available in vanilla Rust, and each tier adds set bonuses when you equip a full matching set.

For example, a full Havoc II armor set might give you bonus radiation resistance and a small movement speed buff, while a full Havoc III set could grant damage reduction against NPC attackers — perfect for tackling the toughest raidable bases.

Set Bonuses

Wearing 3 or more pieces of the same Havoc tier activates a set bonus. The bonuses are designed to reward commitment to a specific tier rather than mixing and matching. This creates meaningful choices about which tier you aim for based on your playstyle.

Havoc Tools

Havoc tools are the unsung heroes of the system. While weapons and armor get all the attention, Havoc pickaxes, hatchets, and jackhammers offer significantly faster gathering rates and higher yield per node. For players who focus on farming and building, Havoc tools are a massive quality-of-life upgrade.

Havoc tools also have increased durability, meaning fewer trips back to base for repairs. The top-tier Havoc jackhammer can clear an entire sulfur node in seconds and lasts several times longer than the vanilla version.

How to Get Havoc Components

The crafting materials for Havoc gear — called Havoc Components — drop from various sources across the server. The higher the difficulty of the content, the better the components you'll receive.

Component Sources

Raidable Bases: The primary source. Easy bases drop Tier I components, Medium drops Tier II, Hard drops Tier III, and Nightmare difficulty has a chance to drop Elite components.

Server Events: Many of our 50+ events reward Havoc components as prizes. Boss events are particularly lucrative.

NPC Drops: Certain high-tier NPCs across the map have a chance to drop components. Scientist compounds and military tunnel NPCs are good farming spots.

Drone Battles: Winning drone arena matches can reward Havoc components as bonus loot.

Tips for New Players

Don't rush for the highest tier immediately. The Havoc I gear is perfectly viable for most PVE content and is much easier to obtain. Use it to farm medium raidable bases more efficiently, which in turn gives you the components for Havoc II.

Focus on Havoc tools first if you're a builder or farmer — the gathering speed increase pays dividends across everything else you do on the server. If you're more combat-focused, prioritize a Havoc weapon and then work on armor pieces.
